Songs for Codi: ‘We Love Codi’
We Love Codi Listen to It Now
By Carol Adams
Codi gives a hug attack!
So you better watch your back!
Codi is full of hugs!
Codi, she likes horses too.
You never know what she might do.
Codi is full of fun!
And that’s why we love Codi!
She always makes us smile!
That’s why we love Codi!
She always seems to brighten the day,
A smile is just a hug away!
That’s why we love Codi!
Codi likes to play with friends,
I even heard she’s got a band.
Codi is really grand!
Codi’s got the teachers hooked,
On her happy, smiley look,
Codi is full of joy!
And that’s why we love Codi!
She always makes us smile!
That’s why we love Codi!
She always seems to brighten the day,
A smile is just a hug away!
That’s why we love Codi!
added 9/27/03 in remembrance of Codi
Codi’s been through thick and thin
We can’t know just how it’s been
Codi is really brave!
Now she’s in a better place
Free from illness, full of grace
In Heaven, she been made new!
Yes, We love you Codi!!

Songs for Codi: ‘Through the Eyes of a Child’
Through the Eyes of a Child Listen to It on OurStage
By Jennifer Kravassi
Thoughts and prayers are welcome, but hugs and smiles are better
don’t make any promises that life won’t bring rough weather
Oh, there’s a bigger plan and I know I have to fight
even if I don’t survive, there’s another little one that might
so don’t cry momma, it’s gonna be alright
cause I got a teddy bear to hold on through the night
oh, you gotta believe, in the powers that be
even if a day might come, when you’re not standing next to me
I know I’m special, and sometimes it’s kinda hard
seeing my friends out runnin’ around, when I can’t walk that far.
Well this little girl’s gotta great big world and there’s so much left to see
well I don’t mind this crutch too much, in my dreams I’m runnin’ free
so don’t cry momma, I’m gonna be alright
cause I got a teddy bear that’ll hold me through the night
oh, you gotta believe, in the powers that be
even if that day might come, when you’re not standing next to me
it’s gonna be alright, for you and me and it’s alright
so don’t cry momma.

Poetry for Codi: ‘A Warm, Gentle Breeze’
A Warm, Gentle Breeze
By Dave Gustafson
A warm, gentle breeze whispered through our lives,
We listened hard to what she had to say.
All too soon she rode away,
Smiling on a horse named Magic.
We tried with all our might to hold on,
But the wind does not belong to us.
It smiles and wonders why we make such a fuss,
For it never really leaves.
If you pause you will feel that breeze,
Remember her for what she was.
Frail, yet strong.
Young, yet courageous.
Wise beyond those all too few years.
When you are sad and lonely,
Let that warm, gentle breeze dry your tears.
Let her carry away all those fears.
Then smile and remember that warm, gentle breeze.

Codi Brought out the best in me, her friends, the student body and the staff of Cummings Elementary School.
She called us to be our very best selves.
Poetry for Codi: ‘Angel In Disguise’
Angel In Disguise
By DeLinda McKinney
You came from nowhere,
With your silly little grin,
You opened our hearts,
You found your way in.
A hug from you,
Is a magical touch,
That’s why we care,
Why we love you so much.
You dance and sing,
Spread your love all around,
You show us the hope,
That is hard to be found.
You’re an angel in disguise,
Sent from above,
An angel in disguise,
Teaching us love.
An angel in disguise,
Making your mark,
You’re an angel in disguise,
Lighting up the dark.
Codi, you’re an angel in disguise.
With each passing moment,
With each passing day,
We love you more Codi,
And with us you’ll stay.
Our world is much brighter,
Now that you’re here,
Our lives now have meaning,
It’s perfectly clear.
Codi, you’re an angel in disguise.
